User Interface
Two controllers and a side bar of buttons. The controls are intuitive and user friendly. Zoom is available to 3 preset settings. The two controller wheels are used for turning pages and within the menus. The side bar is used for making choices.
Storage space
The PRS-700 has 128MB of internal memory which accommodates 160 medium sized ebooks. Additional storage capacity can be added with the Memory Stick Duo media or SD memory cards.
Compatibility
Adobe® PDF, BBeB®, RTF, TXT, JPEG, GIF, PNG, MP3, AAC7. Viewing Microsoft® Word (PC must have Word installed), HTML, and other files requires conversion with supplied software.
Upload Ebooks
Upload files through a USB cable. The PRS-700 doesn’t have wireless capability.
Ebook downloads
Sony has around 100,000 Downloadable ebook’s for sale in the Sony Store, these eBooks ebooks cost 60% more than the eBook at Amazon. However Sony partnered with Google books bringing their book count up to 600′000 books! The 500,000 Google books are free and mostly in the ePub format.
